Ryan and I have been running full steam ahead and already have two new songs written for a new EP/possible split. We’ll probably cap it at 3-4 songs, but let me say that after over a year without writing anything, we are feeling very confident about where our music is heading and what we’re churning out. It feels damn good to be at it again. I’ll keep updating this as more details and such present themselves. Until then, get stoked about the impending Cult Leader and Trap Them releases.
We’re also playing with Circle Takes the Square on Tuesday April 29th at the CYC. Be there. We’re not trolling you.
Take care, all.
It’s been awhile.
We passed our fourth year as a band in October and officially have gone a year without releasing any new material. It has been a busy, weird year with me finishing up my master’s and Ryan booking and touring with his other bands Wallflower and Midwest Moms. BUT the CF hiatus is coming to an end. We finally got to practice and have begun writing new material. With this new material we’d like to release a split, but who knows what will become of it. We mostly just want to record and start playing shows a little more consistently. The new stuff, if I have any say over it, will not be as fast (ha). We’re getting old and these arms are tired. But who knows. We always say that and then we end up writing songs like “The Slow Death.”
Anyway, I’ll try to keep updating as things develop, until then, it’s good to be back. We missed you.
We officially arrived back into the 108 degree heat of the Central Valley around one am last night after eight days on tour in the Northwest. I have to say that at least for myself, this was the best time I’ve had being in a band. Every single show was amazing in their own respect. We played with incredible bands and met countless people who were so nice and hospitable.
Thank you to every band we played with, every person we stayed with, every person who bought merch, and especially, every person who booked us in every city, from here to Seattle. You made our first out-of-state tour unforgettable.
Now for a little band update:
Currently we are running low on our “120 Beers of Sodom” shirts, so if you want one, order it now, because this is the last printing we’ll be doing. We (at least until Dandy sends us more) are out of “Humid City” tapes (a couple CDs left) and only have one more “Cathedrals of Information” tape.
All merch can be bought here: http://cabinfire.bigcartel.com/
Starting probably next week we are going to begin writing for a new split with an as-yet-undecided band. We hope to be able to record by mid-July when my parents house will be empty so we can take over the front room a la the “Humid City” recording sessions.
We also have an amazing show (that’s in the CF practice space) with Caust from Virginia on July 20th. It’ll be a party, plus, I have a pool. That’s just something Catacomb Party can’t offer you. We’ll also be playing with ACxDC in Fresno on July 2nd. AND we’re heading back to Santa Cruz on August 6th back to the Rachet House to play with our good friends in Sloths.
So, a lot of good things coming up. Thank you once again to everyone from tour and stay pissy, Fresno.
We’re dipping into the songs we haven’t played live in a while for this tour. We just practiced a bunch and they’re all fair game.
